Simple DIY Snowshovel Windmill Project
Looking for an easy way to put a windmill on your property that generates electricity?
I found this very straightforward instructional video on YouTube to create a working windmill using 4 snowshovels and some very basic hardware.
Pretty simple DIY project that cost just under $200 when it was built.
PLEASE NOTE! In the video below the instructions say 3000w generator – That would be absolutely CRAZY! It really is a very cool 300w generator. Once it is completed, the windmill can generate 300 watts of power when connected to an alternator.
The parts list is just below the video. Check it out and let me know what you think! (less than 5 minutes)
27″ Snow Shovels
4″ Round Weatherproof Box
4″ Round Weatherproof Cover
Galvanized Pipe Nipple, 3/4-Inch X 12-Inch
EMT Snap N Set Screw Connector, 3/4″
Pillow Block Bearings
A stick of 3/4″ EMT electrical conduit.
Just weld a nut on the bottom of your 3/4″ EMT conduit, connect and it is done!
Let me know if you decide to build it!
